Color Love!

Hey Bloggers!
I hope everyone has plans for a relaxing weekend. It has been a loooonnnggg week and I am very excited that the weekend is finally here!! I have definitely neglected my blog since starting school but I'm hoping to update as often as possible. Let me know if there is anything that you would like to see or if you have some craft ideas that you have questions about. I may have an answer. Today, I am doing something a little different; I'm featuring an awesome project from another blogger. I love modern art and who doesn't love going back to crafting with crayola crayons?! :) This canvas is so vibrant and happy once it's completed. It is definitely a project that I would like to try. You can find the tutorial and the original idea for this awesome craft at Whatever. Stay tuned in to my YouTube channel (mmglasco)
Have a great weekend!! Enjoy!

My Growing Library

Happy Friday! I'm sure a lot of you are getting back into the school schedule like me. I look to forward to fall so soooo much! Before I am completely overwhelmed with school work I have been enjoying whatever time I have left to read. I love reading in my spare time and I definitely enjoy adding books to my personal library to share with friends later. I wanted to share some of my favorite books. I just finished True Believer by Nicholas Sparks. I've read several of his novels and if you haven't read any of them or seen the movies....YOU NEED TO! They are great! I'm never disappointed by his work. The books I've read and strongly suggest are below if you are interested. As of right now I am currently reading:

The Help, by Kathryn Stockett. I ADORE this book. It's based in Jackson, Mississippi which is near my birthplace. It's funny, sassy and has an inspirational message. I can't wait to see the movie!! What are you currently reading??? I welcome every suggestion for a good book! :D Let me know! Enjoy!

Instagram Love!

TGIF!!! I hope everyone is ready for the weekend! We have had a WONDERFUL three days of thunderstorms. The rain has definitely cooled everything down. We've been keeping the windows open and running the air conditioner at bare minimum This weather definitely makes me ready for Fall and some football!!! So today I started an Instagram account! If you've never heard of it, Instagram is an application for taking photos and using more than a dozen different filters to create any photo you want. I LOVE photography so I jumped on this opportunity. To start off I posted a couple of pictures from today. During the rain showers I worked on my magnet collections. Let me know what you think! As always keep an eye on my YouTube account (mmglasco) for tutorials and crafting videos. Rate and Subscribe! Thanks so much! Enjoy!
Peaceful rainy days :D

Staying Cool!!

Hey bloggers!
I hope everyone is staying out of the heat! We are definitely in record temperatures in the south this summer. My dashboard read 124F the other day on my way to work. YIKES!!! It's almost not even worth going to the lake. I wanted to share some foods that help cool you off during the summer.
Watermelon, Grapes, Apples, Berries, Melons and Peaches are full of water  to help hydrate the body! Plus they taste great!!
Cucumber, Celery, Lettuce and Tomato aka salads! :D

Bell Peppers. Spicy foods actually cool the body!

Mint! It's great in brewed teas and salads!

I love using all of these fresh foods but if you're anything like me you have a bit of a sweet tooth as well. So rather than starting up the oven why not make some No-Bake cookies?! I have to admit I've had several unsuccessful recipes that have ended up with either cookies that were too dry or that would'nt set up...until now! My sweet friend Naomi shared her recipe with me and I wanted to share the love with you guys! The cookies turned out great! (Although I did borrow someone else's picture!) :D

Bring 1 stick of butter, 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of milk and 3 tablespoons of cocoa to a boil.
Boil for a minute and a half.
Remove from heat.
Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/8 teaspoon salt and 3 cups of oatmeal.
Mix and place by spoonful on wax paper to cool.
The end. (Haha that was Naomi's touch!)
